Singapore Wind Music Showcase

Yesterday's concert with AudioImage was as success. It was my very first concert with AI. I thought I couldn't make it because of the repertoire. But I made it!!! Thanks to the percussionists.

And after the concert, Kayu's Threnody got stuck in my head... Is it a good thing or a bad thing?

This is my first blog post of 2010... Happy New Year!

Anyways, there isn't anything much happening in my life for the whole of December. But there are a couple events going on. So I'm just gonna summarise it.

28 December 2009.

It was Dax's birthday. Hmm, we just went out to have a simple Pizza Hut meal... I'm glad my darling enjoys it. Just spending time with him doing simple stuffs is just good enough for me. Well, I'm looking forward to doing more stuffs with me this coming year-end break.

3 January 3010.

Doh! It's OMM concert once again. Mahler 1 is awesomely youthful power packed. I love it. And I love Maestro Chan Tze Law's conducting.

After the concert is beer and party. A reason good enough to get me feeling sick the next morning and can't get myself to go to school. Man...

It's time to work hard. It's gonna be the end of year 1. I wanna get year 1 over and done with, seriously... I need to advance. Advance!! Majulah (Singapura)!!

It's time to organise my life a bit more... Since I've quit Club G, I have a lot more time for myself and do something that I'm more interested in. So... Yea.

SORRY PEOPLE!

I haven't been updating for quite some time. Hmm. So let me just roughly summarize what went on for last week.

Monday, 14 Dec.

I was at OMM concert. They combined with the Western Australia Youth Orchestra. You have NO IDEA how huge this orchestra is (actually you do, the picture is up there). They really sound quite awesome despite the little preparation that they had. This was also my first time listening to Holst's "The Planets" and also live. All the movements are really nice! I like the whole thing. Really nice. They played Star Wars too. So nostalgic...

Thursday, 17 Dec.

I went to watch the Jazz Trio, at the Esplanade Outdoor Theatre. As usual, Norman was doing great on the keyboard, and Brandon the bassist is busy as usual (to even take a look at me. Maybe he's forgotten who I am even). Brandon left for somewhere else right after the gig. The Trio wasn't really a trio because there were a percussionist and a back-up vocalist too. Haha.

Hmm, photos in the camera. Too bad the camera doesn't work on my MacBook. Zzz.

Saturday and Sunday, 19 and 20 Dec

Both days I was with AI. I used to be so distant with the members of the band, but now after some time I'm actually able to talk to them and even had fun with them yesterday with the Wii. That was the first time I played Wii and it was so awesome! I probably don't need to go out to exercise if I had a Wii. It's really interactive and you'll get to move a lot, a lot when you're playing the Wii.

Today... Hmm. There's actually band camp at Fuhua. I just came back from lunch with Ms Chong. And I see all my peers today too. And our dear Mr Ben Lim is back from Hong Kong. He hasn't changed a single bit. Man... I wanna talk to him. IN CANTONESE. LOL.

I'm gonna go back later for evening rehearsal. Hmm. Hope Mr Lim is still around by then.

Flight to the top of the world!

Here's a short summary to my week 49 of 2009.

My aunt came to Singapore for a few days and I had fun hanging out with her!

Wednesday was a wonderful night... I was at the top of the world! On the Singapore Flyer. It was a great experience.

The moment I'm on top of the world~

On Thursday, I went shopping with my aunt.

Sexy? (Guess not. =.=)

Cute? (Guess so. =3)

But I didn't buy them. HAHA.

Yesterday was drum lesson. I'm frustrated at the retardedness of my right hand, as usual... Geez.

Today is AI rehearsal. Hope there's lots of people today!

Tomorrow is work... 13 hours. Holy shit... Pray hard I don't fall ill.

Nothing much happening actually. Hmm.

23 days more to my darling's birthday... And 55 days to mine. Both of us turning 20. Aww~ It feels kind of sad. From nineTEEN to twenTY... There's no more TEEN. SIGH. I feel so old. SIGH. Hehehe.

Okay now... 3 more weeks to 2010. How time flies.

Oh! I just had a deja vu.

Anyways, Beethoven Virus is so UNFINISHED! I want to know what happen to Ru Mi and Maestro Kang... GRR.

But it's a nice drama series... I learnt a lot of things from it.

And oh, what else... I had my first drum lesson yesterday. It was a little frustrating because my hands are retarded. Like. Freaking. Retarded. I need to practice to get rid of that retardedness. YEAH.

Well well well... I only get to blog now, because previously I have been having really long days for almost everyday, or simply just doing many other stuffs.

Friday was Flame Awards. It was an awesome event, with no hiccups or whatsoever. I was quite impressed with the fusion performance as well.

Saturday was a day with Dax and an evening with AI... AI is so much fun because the percussion section simply rock! Haha. I wanna play Terrence's Threnody... And I hope I get the timpani part for this piece... Heh. And I hope so much that we are playing for it for the concert too eh!

As for today... Work! Finally after quite some time. I need money... Sigh.

Club:G Retrat Camp!

I'm MIA from the blog because I have a camp. And yes, it's none other than the Club:G Retreat Camp!

Day 1.

Morning was ice-breaking with wacko and the psychological game. Afternoon was sharing of personalities and knowing each other's qualities better, with the help of a worksheet. And after that was Ethan's workshop, where we had to do human pyramids and rope-skipping! Tiring but fun uh.

After that part, I actually went off for AI rehearsal. I brought my new friend Raf along and fortunately there were more than 2 percussionists. But it's still horrible uh. Ching Hong and her gang didn't come... =\

After the rehearsal, it was quite late and my friends in school told me not to go back to school because the I might get into trouble with the security guard. So I went home to sleep. Sigh.

And Raf actually gave me a pair of Zildjian drumsticks. For free. Wow. Thanks Raf. So kind of you.

Day 2.

After breakfast, we have an Amazing Race and we all had fun.

I hope the guys upload the pictures on FaceBook soon... I wanna see them!

Jazz, Blues and Funk!

Tonight was a memorable night of Jazz, Blues and Funk! It was an awesome experience... The setting feels as if we are inside a real cafe, with couches and food and drinks, and of course right in front is the stage and the musicians.

The main players own the first hour of the concert and after that is the free jam session for anyone and everyone. Rare sight, rare opportunity.

It's been a long day... Seriously long day. But this concert is my reward for my long day. Friday the 13th is not so bad after all~

Today is none other than my mum's birthday! I bought her a marshmallow pillow... And she likes it! I'm glad, I'm glad... I'm glad to see her happy and contented expression. I'll upload a photo of the pillow soon!

I thought my brother is gonna buy her a cake today... End up didn't. Then I should've bought a cake along with my present... Zzz. But Mum is okay with it. I hope. =X But I did give her a big present!

I just finished watching D.N.Angel today! I know, I've been watching super old school stuffs. But they really brings back memories. And it also acts as a reminder that I'm getting older. Hahaha. Guess what? Moving on to D. Gray-man now! =P

I didn't go to school today. My mum made me see a doctor, because she can't stand me coughing non-stop anymore. Hahaha. And I spent the whole afternoon downloading D.N.Angel OST! How cool is that. =.=

And then I went to Jamie's place with Dax for his lesson in the evening. Jamie said I'm skinny. Me? SKINNY? WOW. Totally kidding, right? He said I lost so much weight. I was like, "Hmm, not much, but I did." Hahaha! In any case, it was great seeing Jamie again, and hearing his voice and stuff.

Okay, seriously, I need to remind myself to P. R. A. C. T. I. C. E! I need to keep it going, if not I'm not fit to be called a musician. Practice! Yeah!

In this rough situation, I can only be 3 things: A bastard, a bitch, or a really really good old friend who loves him more than I love myself.

Bastard. "Hey, this fella likes you, you know, be careful! Stay away from him, he hurt me before, don't let him hurt you!" Fuck it. That's the end of my friendship with him.

Of course I chose to be the 3rd one. And so it seems, it's best for me... At least.

I learn it from the last few days. Through all the tears, all the talking with my dear friend Nicanor and my dear teacher Ms Chong...

I told him, "You have to make a decision. When you have decided in your heart what you want, that's not enough. You have to take an irreversible step and that's when you have REALLY already decided."

But... I gotta make sure he makes he first irreversible step before I make mine... After him first. Because I still love him very much. I love him more than I could contain. I base my happiness on his. When he's happy, I'm happy too. That's how much I love him.

But on a selfish note... If he still cannot find a suitable person, he can come back to me as his last resort. HAHAHA. Oh really! I can forgive him. Easily. Because I love him so much.

Okay, this dream is damn weird. I dream of myself being scared of insects in my room and I don't know how in the world they get into my room. My mum helped me to get rid of them. And then there's this weird shellfish roaming around my room as well. Its tentacles are like spaghetti. And it's like... My mum tried to dissect it but I told her "don't eat it" and it pissed her off, leaving the shellfish in my room, and I'm still in fear.

Okay, I wonder what Dream Moods would say...

I start to realize... It's even harder to get something back in return when one gives way too much to others.

Just... What am I supposed to do now. Wait longer? I wonder how long I have to wait. I wonder if 3 years is enough to change people's impression of me.

Should I really do EVERYTHING to just... Cater to others' needs and feelings? Or should I just live my own life and just be what I want to be, and not caring how others feel? Or, even better, do what's in between. Best is both? Sounds tough...

That is a really sadistic question. Who would want either? My answer to this question is: I rather be remembered and be loved for who I really am.

I've been trying really hard. I want people to acknowledge me, to recognize me. But that, can come 3 years later. I just have to work on it. Practice the trombone more, practice percussion more, practice piano more, compose more, study harder. Whatever I do, I want to do my best. When I've got skills, when I've got the abilities, everyone else will have nothing to say about me. Because by then, I've become what I really want to be. I can show them who I really am.

But, everything is gonna start small. Start small. Take small steps. That's what I'm gonna do.

Now, all I need to do is focus and concentrate. Everything will turn out fine. 3 years. I will just give myself 3 years.

E36L Outing

What do you call a class outing with only 6 people? It's still a class outing. HAHAHA. Funny. =.=

Yeap. There's Jordan, Jeffrey, Zhongwen, Diniy, Yu'Ai and me.

We meet up quite late, and there's so little of us. So instead of heading out to Marina Barrage, we went to Marina Square. We bought out meals, taking them away and sit at some corner outside Marina Square and have our meals.

After the meal, we played true or dare. It was one of the funniest. I'm the most spotting one there of course. And the rest are... Well. Not very daring. HAHAHA. I've played really hardcore ones. So. There.

We took quite a lot of photos while doing the dares. Hahaha, so horrible, Yu'Ai... I pity the guys. MUAHAHA.

Anyways. We really had a great time despite the small number of people.

Yesterday evening was AI rehearsal... It was just... Nostalgic. Playing in the band, setting up, giving out parts to the rest of the section... How nostalgic.

I have to thank Clarence for giving me so much chances...

And yeah, there's Ching Hong, someone I'm not very familiar with, but feels as if we've known each other for a couple of years (which is in fact true, but not literally), and it's like meeting an old friend. She bought her TP friends along too. All really nice people, we can really get along with each other!

Haha. How many times have I played Armenian Dances Part I... LOL. Ching Hong and I were singing others' parts while playing on our instruments! Hahaha. And plus the sight-reading of other pieces as well. Well, yesterday was the day I play tubular bells. Properly. Oh! I really know nuts about mallets...

Despite the not-so-good attendance of the band yesterday, the rehearsal was actually quite enjoyable... It's so fun when the percussion section is full house! Hahaha. Plus, I made new friends too...

Well. I'll be on my way to Marina Barrage with my darling classmates now. So long.

Today, I went back to my secondary school to have band practice. It's been so long since I had a band practice. Haha.

The alumni band is so small... Guess who are the majority? Percussion. Horns are second. Trombones third. And there's only 1 clarinet and 1 flute... Wow. And, there's so many in the percussion section is because some of them "jump field"! Zzz. "Training rhythm" is their excuse. HAHAHA.

Practically sight-reading throughout... Got slight improvements though. Maybe it's the work of reading plenty percussion scores? Haha.

Played the timpani AGAIN for Seventh Night of July. Yeah, I switched in between...

Gosh. Sorry but, I STILL hate Arnold Morrison's arrangements of Final Fantasy music...

Shagged, bushed, whichever you call it... Tired ah!

But band practice is fun. I'm grabbing back my trombone chops!

Spanish Fantasia!

Okay, people, I know I haven't been updating lately.

Yesterday I went to Philharmonic Winds concert, "Spanish Fantasia", conducted Luis Serrano Alarcón.

Well, to your surprise (I hope!), This was the first PhilWinds concert I watched. No kidding. Never been to their concert once until yesterday. It's been quite a while since I last went to a band concert too. I've been attending orchestra concerts the past few months.

Yes, talk about this concert. All but one of the pieces are written by Maestro Alarcón. Amazing. This concert is a good exposure for me to modern Spanish music. His works are pretty tough, at least it sounds tough...

The highlight of the concert is, to me, "Tramonto", a cello solo piece with wind orchestra accompaniment. The piece is supposedly inspired by one of the paintings by a Spanish painter, José Morea. The piece itself is not very difficult actually, but it shows off the expressiveness of the cello soloist. And of course, that can be well expected from Virtuoso Qin Li-Wei, who is also the Head of Cello Studies in YSTCM. I was pretty much taken aback by the soloist's encore. Doing triple stopping, using thumb-stopping, glissando, left hand plucking, all at the same time. It's just. Oh my God. Wow. Salutations, man.

Well, sound wise, the band sounds like a lump of sound at first. It's either the hall, or the band, or the piece, that's making the band sound this way. But don't know which. The distinctive layers of the band cannot really be brought out. But second half they sound so much better.

Overall the concert is really great, and thanks to the Spanish Embassy, Maestro Alarcón is able to showcase his works with PhilWinds in Singapore. And they only prepared the concert in 2 weeks. TWO freaking weeks. Gosh.

Time for the heartfelt part.

I'm a lost child. Totally. I'm lost in my heart. There's 2 sign boards planted in front of me. Sign boards with 2 persons' names. I don't know which one to turn to. It feels so horrible. I feel scared too. I don't know what will turn out ahead of either paths. Both are equally dangerous! I'm not much of a risk-taker... Somehow, I feel skeptical about this too. God, I don't what to do, damn it!

But the thing is... I don't mind giving. I can give all my might. I don't expect anything in return. I don't mind putting myself to torture, as long as that person important to me is happy, I'm more than willing. As long as... That person stays happy... That person's happiness will become my happiness too. I really don't mind...

Anyways.

Time. Time is all we need. It's just the matter of time. Time.

Well, today's the HSBC Youth Excellence Award 2009. And this year's recipients are Daniel Tan and Orchestra of the Music Makers (OMM). First time ever HSBC has giving an award to an organization.

Gabriel Ng's playing captured me. So young, but his virtuosity is so much matured than he is.

At the end of the concert, OMM presented Mr. and Mrs. President Nimrod from Elgar's Enigma Variations. That was the piece that has given me the deepest impression throughout. Well-paced... Expressive... Dynamic... Just as I expected from my inner ears...

And there's some catching up with old acquaintances, Si-han and Jaryl. Awesome chat with them.

I wonder how would I feel when I wake up in the morning later.

HIYA.

I know I haven't been updating... Well, that's because there's nothing much happening... But I promise you, it's gonna be really happening this week!

Today I went to Orchard Central with my newfound friend Dave. Well, besides the walking and getting lost part, everything else is fine. HAHA.

There I met Dale and Yong Lin and Terry! Poor Terry has to rush to work after all the photography job is done for the Summertimes Big Band. Geez!

When I go there it was already the last set though. Hehe. But it was awesome! Hmm, one of the trumpet guys actually sings very well. WOOHOO!

And then I went for dinner and went home... Well, I didn't exactly went straight home, I went to Jurong Point and window-shopped a bit. The stuffs are getting more expensive and not appealing at the same time, to me at least. Hmm.

Clarence's last concert with OPWO with Feiyang's "Dreamscapes" World Premiere.

Today, actually, if not for kayu (Feiyang, it's you!), I wouldn't have gone to OPWO's concert.

This was actually the 2nd OPWO concert I went to. I think it was after the 21st Century International Band Competition then. I am really impressed by their performance during that competition at Genting. Well, old story... I was there. LOL.

I reached at 6pm. And guess what? I saw Fizz! So happens that he came from Orchid Park Secondary School and he's got a friend playing in the alumni band.

"Dreamscapes" premiere was... Oh well, the band really tried their best. I can tell. And kayu has also tried his best to put the band together to play his piece. Kudos to kayu! Seriously speaking, the piece is really hard for the musicians to catch what's going on... Because this piece is about a dream so, before you know what's going on your current scene just jumped on to another. Yeah... I've played it, and it's hard to catch it very well. BUT. You people did a great job.

The alumni band is good... Very little people, but much power. I was quite impressed by them playing Mozart's Basson Concerto in Bb K191 with their own alumni bassonist Nathaniel Tan as the soloist. AND. I liked their "Merry Widow"!

I saw my previous band conductor, Doreen Tan during the interval... Gee.

Overall, though they didn't put up their best performance, I envy their stamina! If it were my secondary school band, they probably can't take it...

It happened that it's Clarence's last concert with OPWO. 8 long years with them... It's not surprising that it brings people to tears! Goodness, it was touching, honestly! All the gifts, the dancing, the singing, the hugging... Aww.

It was a great concert. Seriously.

Long day, today... Though I reach school at about 11.30am. LOL.

Sorry for the lack of pictures...I realised I am back to this text blogging again... It's temporary. I will switch back and forth a little. Hehe.

The Cognitive UT was easier. Perhaps it's to compromise us for retaking it because of the UT client's technical error. LOL.

Club:G tea party was fun! Though personally I think the attendance is a little disappointing... I didn't get to see the people I want to see! Hmph. I am in a super switch off mode because I am so hungry... Zzz. Pizza... =O

Rush rush rush to BE's practice! I can't find where they are. I went to every single level to find them and in the end they are actually on the 1st floor... =.= Practice was fun. And I played the bass drum. HAHA. Bass drum. The bass drum of a Pearl Rhythm Traveller. With only 1 drum head. O.o

I went really crazy today. A little bit floating around. I dunno what's with me. The words coming out from my mouth didn't process much thought in my head. HAHA.

First Club:G weekly meeting

Today's first meeting with Club:G was a little chaotic but we managed to get things done... Haha. It was fun though. I am beginning to like this event management more and more. I can't wait for tomorrow's presentation! But right after that I have to run to Beats Encore practise.

OMG. I don't wanna do the stupid UT... Stupid UT Client.

I can't believe I am arranging for a horn trio... Scarborough Fair. Hmm. And NO REFERENCE TO ANYTHING. Haha. And I'm kinda one quarter done. Eheheh. I hope the result is good. Can't wait for the horny horn trio to try it! You know who you are don't you? XD Be prepared...

Why does some orchestral pieces make me so emotional until I want to cry? So... This is the love for music? Benjamin Britten, understand what you said before totally now...

Club:G Camp and other things...

Yeap. Here I am again. Sorry for the lack of photos recently... But I will bring them back from the following posts.

Thursday and Friday, I was at Club:G camp.

Day 1.

I. Was. LATE. How cool is that, being late for the camp? Wednesday night I was hanging out at Edgar's place and I stayed up pretty late... So there. I was late. LOL. The first day was full of games. Games with intentions. LOL. Pretty much. The obstacle race was quite fun. Water, water bombs, water ballons, flour... Well. Dirty is what we get!

Faan kinda got himself hurt and his back was not good and has breathing difficulties and all... Is it the trust fall? I dunno... We slept quite late. Like. 2am.

Day 2.

We were doing this annual plan... Coming out with proposals for events and we came out with many awesome ideas! And we are gonna present our proposals to the sub-committee.

Overall the camp is fun and I get to know a few more new people. It let me realise that there are so many things to work on...

Friday evening right after the camp I went home to put down all my stuff and grab my laptop and went to meet Dax and Edgar... No one is joining us for the night-over. Sigh. Only 3 of us.

We went to Cold Storage to buy some beer and head over to Edgar's place... We DotA, CS and beer till about 5am. I got pretty high. LOL. Geez. Weak I am. LOL.

The next day I went to NAFA and slack a little, practise a little, and hear Lim play... He's Flute God now man.

Well as you can see, I actually didn't really put my heart and soul into this post... It will happen to me once in a while. So...

But don't worry. I'll be fine.

Fuhua 10th Anniversary/ Wala Wala

I am gonna cover the happenings of the past couple of days and today. Hmm.

Thursday was nothing... I practised. And practised. And then practised again. Nothing more, nothing less. mhm.

Friday I went back to Fuhua for the 10th anniversary dinner. Pathetically it's held at the school hall. Kinda sucky when it comes to appreciating the performing arts groups. And the food is not really good either, sad to say... My only favourite part of that night is singing the school song, talking to Ms Chong and going around to talk to the teachers who taught me before.

After that Mich, Fanying, Xueying, Sharon and I dropped by Wala Wala to chill... There's 1-for-1 offer there for the whole of June and Sharon and I bought 1-for-1 whiskey coke and 1-for-1 Sapporo. I got kind of high fast because I drink the Sapporo so fast. LOL. The live band was really good... They play some songs that I know. They sang "You Found Me". I. Love. It! And oh well they are all good girls who don't stay out late for long... And Wala Wala closes quite early that day so we went off at about 2pm when the band is done.

Today I went to Dax's place and relax and went out to Plaza Singapura to meet our old friend Shaun to return some stuffs to him. I fell in love with his spectacles at the first sight. LMAO! After that we went to window shop and went to the Esplanade Library to hunt for scores and books. And then, we went home.

Though it's nothing much but I feel really happy. So happy. I want to have more of these simple stuff coming along... =D

Pulau Tekong Trip

Today I had a ball of a time at Pulau Tekong's Basic Military Training Centre (BMTC in short). I get to see the whole camp itself... And not just the parade square for POP. LOL.

It's quite a journey from RP to the SAF Ferry Terminal. Today I rode on a really huge ferry, not like that time I went for my brother's POP...

There's briefing and waiting presentation and all... Blah blah blah...

Okay. Guys who don't have brothers who went through NS and never went to Pulau Tekong before, please do read this post... May help you be better prepared for your NS. =D

There's a few stations the Nexus prepared for us.

1. Accommodation

12-inch. KING COIL BED. After a tough day of training, your bunk is all you need to recharge your batteries for the next day. You wake up at 0530 hours, and go to bed at 2230 hours. 7 hours of sleep is pretty good isn't it? There's also mosquito net for you if you ever need one as well. There's a personal locker beside your bed for all your belongings. And let me tell you. The bunks are really clean. YOU have to make an effort to keep your sleeping environment clean.

Feeling bored in the middle of the night? No worries, there's a lounge on every floor. For your information, each company (or coy for short) typically has 5 storeys and each storey has a lounge. You can play card games, watch TV or even read there. There's 3 TVs in a lounge anyways. =)

2. Marksmen Training

Every soldier has to go on the battle field with a weapon. And this weapon every Singaporean soldier holds (or used to hold, because they manufactured a new default rifle) is the M16. With technology, the SAF spent about 3 million just to build the marksmen simulation. The new technology can enhance your training and hasten your improvement before you even hold the real rifle on the real battle field.

This simulation may become a replacement for Left 4 Dead or Counter Strike, because you cannot bring your PCs to the camp. XD

I've tried it, and it's pretty awesome! The weight of the gun is real, the feel of when you pull the trigger and shoot the bullet is real. It's all pretty realistic.

3. Standard Obstacle Course

In order for a NSman to pass his SOC, he must complete it within 7 minutes and 50 seconds. This is what is done:

i. 700m run - Just... Run.

ii. Low wall; 1.83m high - reach for the stars to go through this. Easy-peasy huh.

iii. Parallel bars; 3m long - Upper body work.

iv. Stepping board - this one is just to boost confidence. Nothing much. LOL!

v. Swinging trainer - Can man, monkey bars...

vi. Low rope - Lower body work.

vii. Horizontal beam - again, this one is just to boost confidence...

viii. Swinging bridge - Just walk over uh!

ix. Balancing log - After walking you have to jump down from a height of about 2 metres.

x. The Gate - Every fitness corner in secondary school has this. Don't tell me you can't do it!

xi. Jacob's Ladder - Careful, don't fall into the gaps...

xii. Ramp; 2m high - Wee!

xiii. 600m run - Just run like you got chased by the tiger here. XD

4. Combat Rations/Camouflage Cream

Well, combat rations tastes really good if you are at Brunei on field training for 9 days and you can only eat on 2 of the 9 days there. There's baked beans, Oreo, Milo... There's also Teriyaki chicken rice, chicken curry rice, Mee Goreng... The main courses are split into 2 catagories: vegetarian and Halal. So it's for anyone and everyone! There's also special kind of biscuits and fibre bars that can be seen only in the Army... Cool right?

Every soldier loves the camouflage cream. You know why? Because... It has nutrients and Aloe Vera that can prevent pimples and acne. Sweet. Everyone will have 2 bottles of cream: green and black.

5. Personal Equipment

Honestly speaking, you will have everything you need on the first day you step into the BMTC. And the ONLY things you need to bring is underwear, wallet, handphone. The rest is provided to you in one single bag. And everyone will have their personal rifle! Cool? =D

Well, that's all I have to share about BMTC. Photos can't be taken there, so all I have is words to describe to you how the camp looks like... It looks like a combination of a school, a camp and a resort. Seriously! Hahaha... And there are many patriotic messages posted all over the camp... This is a great place for you to learn if you are not proud of Singapore, just yet... Boys, you will become men once you come out form National Service... Trust me. =)

Funny stuffs that I can share with you during the trip... The NSmen are so cute and they welcome their visitors warmly! As we walk around the camp there will be guys looking out from their bunk windows and waving to us. And we waved back. LOL! So funny and cute... There are some who actually whistled uh... Deprivation leads them to do so. LMAO! Kidding...

Today's post has no photos because it wasn't meant to... LOL.

Yesterday was a big day. It's the last day of term 1. YAY! And immediately after school I went to NAFA to look for Dax and the others... I was a little late because first, when I walked halfway to the Woodlands MRT station I almost forgot that I have to pay my school fees and I walked back to school to pay. Second, I went to buy manuscripts at Causeway Point's Popular. It's so crowded plus it took me a million hours to find the tiny notebook manuscripts. Dang it...

After I reached NAFA, the guys are all playing DotA. So well, I sat down and watched them a bit... And then we went for dinner at POMO's Ishi Mura. It's been so long since I last ate there. I tried the teriyaki chicken rice in stone bowl... Which has a huge long crack... But... Quite nice. Haha.

After that, more gaming... While the guys DotA, I played through the first campaign of Left 4 Dead all by myself! Woots~ I know the way now. Wahaha. Well, it's in easy mode so... Yeaps. I didn't think I could handle the rest of the campaigns then so I stopped and play the light games on the internet.

Yucks, Ah Cheng came to disturb us... Because it's quite late already, and my mum called me to nag, so I didn't really know what's going on with the guys and him uh. Well, we had to get out of the school somehow. So we got out, gather some resources from Cheers and went to the Kopitiam near La-Salle.

Hmm there were Dax, Edgar, Kum Fai, Jeremy Lim and Shaune. Beer first, then Johnny Walker Black Label. We had it with Coke... And went quite high. Kum Fai did not stay for long because he had to teach the next day. Sigh. We talked about everything under the moon man... LOL.

After all the fun we took cab together, except for Lim uh... He took another cab home. LOL. Dax and I went to Edgar's house. It's. Humongous. And guess what? He's got a pure husky. Aww... It's so cute and so friendly.

His room is so oh-my-gosh kind of room. He room is as big as my house's master bedroom and the toilet is twice as huge as my house's master bedroom's toilet. With bathtub. Geez!

So we are still high and everything... We slacked and talk and all that. And about 4AM plus then we went to bed. And well, Edgar had to go out to teach in... 2 hours. LOL. He got back and 11 plus and woke us up, then his mum sent us to Serangoon MRT station and Dax and I went home...

I hope there are many more of these nights to come along... Life is at its best now. Hmm.

Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy Concert

Today I went to Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy Concert. The audience was HIGH! Yeah yeah yeah.

Introducing... The Singapore Festival Orchestra.

Many familiar faces... My secondary school conductor Ms Chong (principal), her student Wilson and their colleague and friend David (bass) made up the trombone section. They rock!

We went to the concert together~

Awesome audio and video settings. And awesome chorus! With awesome opening! And an awesome conductor who does all the talking by himself.

And guess what? Nobuo Uematsu-sama is in the audience as well! When he acknowledged the audience, they were all so high. Totally!

YES, the opening is Liberi Fatali.

It's just so touching to hear the music that you really like LIVE... Especially for Dax. Right, right, right, dear?

Throughout the concert the video's displayed are quite nice, especially the FF7 ones. Some of the videos are excepts in the game while you are playing it.

We saw a "Cloud" in the audience... This guy who dressed all up like Cloud is just so... Hardcore. Hmm.

Before the interval there were 2 pieces with classical guitar solo. The soloist's score keeps flying and folding back and the conductor and the concert master both helped him open the score back again. Awesome concert master. Great musicianship displayed. He clipped the guitar soloist's score for the soloist. Aww...

Uematsu-sama came on stage to acknowledge the audience once again, and Roth (the conductor) told everyone that Uematsu-sama wants to sing! And he did!

He sang "One-winged Angel" with the chorus at a corner... He bounces to the music too! So cute! Not surprised, it's one of his favourite compositions he wrote himself.

Overall, it's a HIGH and AWESOME concert! Congrats to Ms Chong, Wilson, David (the super steady trombone section), Marcus, Tee Heong, Si-han, WeiPing, Richard, Zheng Yi upon completion of DWFF project!

After that we made out way slowly to Funan's Swensen's to dine. Awesome...

And guess what's after that? LEFT 4 DEAD. Completed 1 campaign. Woots.

Today I went to Natalie's last recital as an oboe major. One word. GORGEOUS. And Guanz and I bought lovely hand-made Belgium chocolates for her. I really hope she likes it. =)

I didn't realise it at all. Everything I expected turned out to be the opposite. I am so disappointed. We shall never cross paths again, for I am walking on the big path with light and you are walking through the dark crooked forest.

You are a disappointing bunch that I can't deal with you myself! However, I will now! Do you have problems with identifying me as an individual? How long has it been? I may not be a very good musician, but I still hold pride and identity! Pride and identity as a musician, as a composer, is what I hold. You will never understand how I feel... Okay people. Chucks of words first.

Today I went for the Club:G's interview... I jammed when they ask the first question. I feel kind of retarded. HAHA. Then after that it went on smoothly. I was like, HOHOHO. Triumphant. LOL.

I've decided NOT to audition for Replug. It's gonna take up my time... Dang it.

Since yesterday, I've been hanging out with the mobSTAs Year 1 clique. Awesome bunch, especially when the group has Alex and Ani. The A people. LOL. And in this bunch there's my old friend Shuyi too... Long lost perhaps since after my first concert with NIE Youth Band, which is... 2006? But we found each other again. And he's in the same course as me. It's just s0 coincidental. Awesomeness!
